Haven't really put too much thought- 5star seems to be the defacto around here and everyone seems really happy with it. I guess it depends on what's going to be easily available up here in the great white north

Thought about a canned tune, but I read too many negatives to really feel comfortable with one. Lots have good luck, some have no luck.

I came from the mustang world before i got this truck. I'm gonna go with a jon lund tune. 5 star seems popular with the trucks. The aftermarket support with these trucks is not nearly at the level with the stangs. So its hard to make a decision when there is only a couple videos of these trucks tuned etc.

Ill do a before and after video when i get mine.

I looked him up on. He seams to get the mustangs to run real well. The only issue is one tune is $200. That is alot of mullah for one tune.

Wow! That's ridiculously high. I was considering the Gryphon, but I've heard they're no longer doing custom tunes. Something to do with the software they use isn't allowing it or something.

despite what everyone thinks. You only need ONE tune. Paying for 2 or 3 is pointless. These motors are not like the old trucks. Besides if you buy a tuner with it you are still paying about the same price as a 5 star.

And lund, evo, etc all have been doing tuning much longer.

Plus you can data log . send the tune back into them and they can revise it if it needs. But they are soo good at it you wont probably need any adjustments. And most of these places do free updates if you buy parts from them. So you dont have to pay 5 star 45 bucks everytime you buy a new part to update your tune.

overall you are getting a better deal with a lund tune. Plus they have a long track record for how safe and spot on their tunes are.

Just thought I would throw it out there that I have the 5 Star tunes on my 5.0 and love it to death vs. the stock or canned tunes from SCT.

By the way, you also get 6 months of free updates from 5 Star if you end up changing stuff on your truck. I know it isn't lifetime and maybe that is one bad deal, but most of the time you'll do everything you plan on doing in 6 months if you are actually going to put a tune on your truck.

Just so Everyone is tracking. Lund is 200 bucks for a tune if you have your own tuner etc.

I was quoted 400 for a 5 star.
475 for a lund
455 for an evo.
455 for a jdm.

This is all with a tune and sct. So the 200 sounds intimidating but you arent spending much more.

I know personally the other 3 are good to go. before the truck i have never heard of the 5star company.

Ill still go with lund regardless. But just giving some input from my point of view.

I dunno if he is doing trucks but in the mustang world. Jon Lund is one of, if not the best.

So with your purchase through leathal. That includes 1 lund tune. And obviously the canned. Are they safe to tow with or are they straight up performance.
I'll be looking for a good 93 track tune in the spring. As i have been looking at everyone in the tuning game.
