Ways to improve MPG
So I have a 60 mile round trip everyday. I've been getting between 16-17 avg mpg on about every half tank/250ish miles or so of gas (I rarely let it get empty $$$) Thats driving between 70-75mph and keeping the RPM's at or under 2K while on the highway. I dont gun it coming from a red light or stop sign.
My question is, how can I better my MPG? Its not an ecoboost engine. I still kick myself for not getting one, didn't know what I was doing when I bought my truck and the dealer didn't talk to me about getting one.
I've read that an after market CAI wont make any difference, but what about the air filter itself? I already keep my air pressure at 40 on the tires and that seems to help. Keep regular oil changes. I have the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires on it now. When they are worn out fully I plan on swapping to a radial thats good on MPG. Is there anything else I can do?

AND ... The particulars about your vehicle are:
BTW ... CAI, aftermarket air filter, etc. will be of no benefit and will only decrease filtration.
.
- year?
- engine?
- trim?
- cab?
- bed length?
etc., etc., etc..

2010 FX4, 5.4L SCREW, 5 1/2' bed.
And I was going to do a Google search, but figured everything I would get there would be here. Might also be others out there wondering the same thing.

I figured my best bet was to slow down. Speed limit is 70. Its on the stretch in Vegas taking 95 North out of the city...not much to look at so faster the better to get it over with. lol. And driving 65 would mean I gotta leave about 10 min earlier. I hate getting up! Thanks for the info though. In all seriousness, would a tuner kit help?

I noticed no one actually chimed in with ways to increase MPGs...So here is a couple of easy ones...
1) Reduce wieght (do not carry anything you do not need)
2) Make sure tires are properly inflated
3) Slow down on the highway
