Default water spots on trim?

My truck only has 350 miles on it and I just noticed waterspots on the plastic/rubber trim under the windows.

WTF?

My 2011 didn't do this.

Y U DO THIS?

Clean it with an APC (all purpose cleaner), then top with an exterior trim dressing. Meguiars back to black will work but doesn't last too long. That's available at any auto parts store:wal Mary. If you really want to get into detailing to keep your new truck sparklingly beautifully, look into autogeek.net. I use Wolfgang exterior trim sealant on all if my black trim and it works spectacularly.

I typically will clean with Simple Green APC, then dress it with Turtle Wax Ice Max (the polish not the interior cleaner). This wax wont leave the residue that old turtle was would, and it last a long time with no streaks. I am currently at about 3 months since i last did it and it still looks great.

I used Meguiars water spot remover on my paint but wasn't sure what to use on the trim. I ended up testing it on the rear window trim and it worked OK. I haven't used it on the plastic trim since it's creamy and I'm thinking it will leave some residue. You could try it on the trim, but go slow.

I'm going to try some clay to see how that works, but not on the plastic trim. Not sure what I'll do with that yet. APC hasn't worked on the trim.

I hate water spots...
