I joined this club this past weekend as well. My truck has 36,280 miles on it and decides to leak all over the back of the headliner and rear seat. Fortunately I have a lariat so I don't have the saddle leather that gets jacked up when wet. Ford won't help me either but I am about to call their customer service line.

I have a 2010 Supercab STX that I bought Feb 1st of 2010. It has 42,000 miles on it and now the headliner is leaking at the back window inside the cab. I'm taking it to the dealer Monday morning. I however purchased the bumper to bumper 5yr 100k extended warranty so I'm good there but I'm wondering how long did they keep ya'lls truck to fix the problem?

Mine took 4 hrs, but they sealed the Sirius antenna also at the same visit and replaced the headliner.

Check the small print on your extended warranty concerning water intrusion.

Okay, I'll do that. I'm hoping it'll cover it because that was the point in shelling out the cash for the extended bumper to bumper warranty. Thanks for fast reply my man.

Bottom Dollah, I went and got my warranty sheet and I can't see anything about water intrusion but I did get the PremiumCare which covers the most so I'm guessing that it will but if not then I'll bite the bullet.

Nevermind BD, I finally found it. "waterleaks" are not covered by the Premiumcare plan.

Kinda disheartning to find that out after paying for what I'm sure the salesman who sold you the warranty told you it was 'bumper to bumper'.

Before I bought one I specifically asked if water intrusion was covered also.

My salesman looked at the contract for a while and said "It appears not".

I told him "It appears that I don't want it then".

I once owned a brand new 1978 E-150 (full size van) that leaked like a showerhead from day 1.

The FoMoCo never did get all the water intrusion problems fixed after at least 10 visits to the selling dealer and 5 visits to other dealers in the area.

I didn't buy a Ford vehicle for 32 years after owning that van for 12 years.

I figured after all that time it would be safe to buy one now.

I was wrong.

I believe the repair you need is going to cost @ $300.

Some members are buying the Recon 3rd brake light and just replacing the whole fixture with a new gasket. They cost about $100 but aren't plug and play. You gotta splice some wires.
That's why I didn't get one, cuz I don't want any problems with the 36,000, 3 year warranty.

Some members will probably chime in with the 'Moss-Magnum Act' stating that unless the items that were installed are causing the problem, you are in the clear.

BS. Warranty's get denied all the time and the 'Moss-Magnum Act' (or whatevah !) ainta gonna pay for your legal counselor.

This 3rd brake light leak is an ongoing issue with the FoMoCo.

Take a big box of doughnuts into the service dept., pull the head 'Tech' aside and start sweet talking about maybe getting it fixed under warranty. Wouldn't hurt to try and you could eat all the doughnuts in front of them if they refuse..................

Has ANYONE heard of problems with water leakage with the 2011 models? This water intrusion problem makes me very uncomfortable. Fortunately, I live in a relatively dry climate. Nonetheless, I will heavily silicone the xm antenna and third brake light.

BD (and others)

My servicing dealer (not the dealer where I bought the truck) fixed the problem out of warranty at no cost. They said they found some way to do that but I suspect they just ate the cost to keep me happy. That is after Ford customer service told me the way "nothing that allowed Ford to fix it out of warranty". I didn't like that answer and probably said something unkind to the rep that I was talking to.

As an update and follow up to my situation with my 2010 SCAB and the leaking from the oh sh*t handle.............I had officially been to the dealer 4 times. The Satellite Antenna was re-caulked twice, and they were putting in the 3rd tailight assembly for the 3rd time. I was in the midst of trying the silicone idea on my own that I had read about in this thread previously when in my personal situation with all the offers, decided to just trade up. So hello 2012 SCAB and no issues. The response I continually received here in KS was they hadn't heard of the problem. But when you start mentioning it to enough people at the dealership, I found out that wasn't always the case.

My last trip there for the leak was almost a 5 hour wait. It took less time to get everything done on my new truck. I made them pressure test the new truck before I would take delivery. I have been a Ford-lifer and probably won't change, but wasn't looking forward to a possible odor problem and that was my biggest concern.
