Warranty Work Denied by Stealership - Service Personnel PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP
Took my '14 f150 to the local stealership this morning for some warranty work - squeaky passenger window when rolling down, corroded valve cover bolts, and chip in paint under taillight assembly from the taillight assembly rubbing on the paint.
They fixed my window by cleaning and lubing the area around the window...yeah, that will f^&$ing work for a few weeks I'm sure, especially since I live in sunny south FL where nothing lasts with the rain and the heat.
They denied the valve cover bolts because "that's normal." Yeah, maybe normal for FORDs because of a F%*$#ed up design. I know people on here have had them replaced, so not sure why I can't have it done.
Oh, and the chip in the paint (which is about an inch long line, not a chip) they are denying because I recently installed aftermarket reverse bulbs and they say that I could have done it while overtightening the assembly. Um, maybe, but I originally noticed that chip in the paint when I took the taillight assemblies off to paint the inside lip, like more than a year ago. I just never wanted to bring my truck in for just that (since it's surprisingly not rusting).
I need a customer service rep to write here with their contact info so that I can get these issues, that are no fault of my own, fixed.

Unless you got the paint protection as well when you bought the truck, no way are they going to warranty a paint chip on a 2 year old truck.

I get the anger at Ford for the squeaky window and the rusted bolts, but I have always felt that being respectful and polite are the best ways to get a service rep, in any industry, to help you. Adult language has its place, and works wonders at times, and once you have gotten past the basic customer service rep. But more often than not I have seen it alienate people and cause them to work against you.
As for the paint scratch, that is a tall order to get fixed on Fords dime. I would advise spending the $25 to buy a paint/clear coat pen and touch it up yourself.
Good luck with everything,

Lmao! Hmmm two year old truck rubber that sits in Florida sun all year drys out and squeaks, corroded bolts in the engine compartment on a two year old truck in Florida (humid sea air) and a chip in paint on a two year old truck that has had taillights taken in and out several times by owner? Too funny! The other guys have a bit more sympathy than I as your tone seems that you're overreacting! Lol
Thanks for the laugh and treat window seals every once in awhile, not sure on bolts, I'm sure it's just in the surface and get some touch up paint. No more stress and you can go on with your life!
