A dealership "Finance" guy is just a car salesman that got promoted. The dealership and the "finance" guy make a ton of money on anything the "finance" guy sells you. That's why they promote the best salesman to that job. On "extended" warrenties, I always tell them that if I need it, I don't need the car, truck, tv or whatever I'm buying.

I used to sell cars years ago and I loved the add ons. Extended warranties, service contracts, rustproofing and the like. High profit stuff! Most often I would make more money with the add ons than I did with the actual sale.

Sorry to hear about your experience. That sucks. But you'll have to agree that $5,000 is better spent gambling in Vegas than gambling on a contract!

I bought a new Sony laptop in October. Great deal, I paid $400 for it and it has everything I could ever want or need. Then the salesman at Future Shop (kinda like a Canadian Best Buy type of store) tries to sell me a warranty for, get this, $350!!!!! I'm like; "That's a joke, right?" Nope. No joke. And he's telling me how crazy it is not to have it.

Well, I guess I'm just crazy!

If you want the facts, ask the loan company.
But since you asked for an opinion, the navy fed will buy the whole loan for payoff, and when the refund comes in it will be sent to navy fed.

Pen Fed at 1.49 is a better deal

I thought about PenFed, but I've always used Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union in San Antonio and had great customer service. They have 1.9% on new and used for 60 months. You don't have to be in the military. They allow others to join, such as Sears employees for whatever reason. USAA is a little high on their fees and interest rates.

jasOny, if you are in NY, remind the dealer to look at the Ford ESP manual, and it gives the refund timelines. I think most states are in there, but I KNOW NY states it must be refunded within 30 days of your request or you are do 10% extra for every month it is late. You can call Ford and request the ESP booklet and they will mail you one. They will hold on to that money as long as they can, it's not theirs. Besides that, they also have to refund the prorated amount of their commission, and they hate that.

Best of luck, they can really be a PITA! I bought the ESP for my new truck from Flood Ford online in May and saved about $375. I got a 72/60000 mile ESP with 0/ded. and the rental for $795

I know that's the reason why they are not doing anything with it because it is NOT there money. It took me 3 days of bitching at them to find out what was going on. All sales and finance manage kept saying I will call you back I'm busy with a Costomer blah blah. Finally the finance call and said oh we had to request something back from ford again so you will have it next week. I would like know more about the timelines they have to refund my check.
