I found this link. I was going to attempt this myself but I had a Safelite guy do it and he didn't do it like the video but he managed to get it off without breaking it.
Every glass company I called said they weren't responsible for anything that would happen. My mirror was loose that is why I needed to remove it and reseat it.

I have no way of knowing what the average experience is, but my personal observation is that my 2011 F150's windshield cracks, chips and pits much more easily than any other vehicle I've owned.

Carlite is usually a pretty good glass, but I didn't want to risk it again. I went with a PGW glass this time and the optics are excellent, has a nice visor tint, the 'green' tint on the glass looks cool, and the fit is perfect. I didn't get the F150 logo as it wasn't worth the extra $70 (paid $200 installed for my windshield) but it does have the same 'blacked out' area where it would have been. I will also say this as testimony to the PGW glass' durability- I went on a trip this weekend and while on the highway, you guessed it- CRRRACCKK!!! I was hit on the windshield by what sounded like a rock (didn't see the object) and thought for sure I would see a 'star', chip, or crack somewhere. I couldn't find one.
