Ecoboost Badges: Plastic Film Coming Off?
I was cleaning my 2011 FX4 last night and noticed that both of the Ecoboost badges have a thin plastic film that's coming off of them (essentially on the inlay over the ecoboost lettering). Does anyone know if this film was supposed to be removed when the vehicle was new? The badges look a bit silly with this ragged film on them; will it damage the badge if the film is removed?
Thanks for any help!

They will replace them under warranty. I couldn't stand them friggin things. I removed mine as soon as I got my new truck home from the dealer.

Goo gone and fishing line are your friend. Use the fishing line to saw off the badge and use the goo gone and a microfiber towel to remove the remaining adhesive. It won't hurt the paint, but I would definitely wax afterwards

]I notice a lot of Eco's driving around with that blue film still on the badges. I just thought it was a 2012-2013 thing, or the dealer got lazy and forgot to remove the protective plastic

Retired and loving it!
If I was going to go to all the work to take them off, I'd replace them with these:
These are the Lincoln EB badges. Smaller and I think that they look great under the F-150 badge instead of floating that huge Ford one on the door:
