Default Wanting to level

I've had my truck for a couple of months and have seen another truck just like mine in the are with a leveling kit on it. I really like the look/stance of a leveled truck but have no idea what i'm looking for. advice on brands would be greatly appretiated and how much money I should expect to pay. I do not want it to be lifted much, i just want it to sit level. my other question is any drawbacks or side effects with these kits? is it bad for the vehicle suspension? Any help at all would be much appretiated. thanks

There are many threads on level kits. I went with Hell Bent Steel. The kit was $89 shipped from their website. My mechanic charged $50 to put it on. If your familiar with vehicles, I'm sure you could do it yourself. I went with the 2" kit and my truck sits perfectly level. The rear measures 1/2" higher but it looks level. I've had mine on for a year and have had no issues. Some people will say it can void your warranty (if the dealership can prove the level kit caused the part to break). Ask 100 people about level kits and you will get 100 different answers on which brand is better, which size, if it's bad for the suspension and so on. Do your research and go with what you think looks the best.

I will second the hell bent steel. I currently don't have a leveling kit but I know a lot of people with that kit and no complaints.
I'll be getting an auto spring kit front spacer and larger rear block and it's only 189 on ebay

Just do it. Get a 2 inch kit. Be happy. Gotta pay to play. Problems are for future you to worry about. It's only money. You can make more.

I'm sure this has been answered a million times over but do these affect the ride? When I did the torsion bar lift on my duramax it looked good but it also made it ride like a lumber wagon.

Not at all. I noticed no change in ride quality.

I added the Autospring 1.5" kit to the front of my 2014 FX4 ... spacers go on top of the strut, so the strut itself is unmodified. The only thing the spacer does is push the strut down 1.5", which changes the angle of your upper and lower control arms, and the angle that your front driveshaft CV's are at - but it's not much of a change at all to be honest.

Driving around under normal conditions, you won't notice a difference in factory ride quality. The only thing that this type of lift/level does is use up about 1.5" of your overall down-travel. Let's say you used to get 6" of down travel ... now you only get 4.5" because you used up 1.5" of that with your leveling kit.

As for the rear ... I replaced the 1.3" blocks with 2" blocks. This also has no effect on ride quality. As with the front, it used up about .75" of my rear shocks total travel distance, but it doesn't limit the suspension's movement at all since the blocks go under the springs, but over the axle.

The biggest factory in ride quality will be what tires you go with. Bigger, heavier, stiffer tires make more difference than anything.

I've got a 2wd limited, so the front sits a tad lower than the rear. If i did a 1-2" level in the front. would i have to worry about any camber or toe in? I know i will need to get an alignment done. Don't want irregular wear on the tires.

i think most people would say to stay 2.5 inches or lower, otherwise you might put more pressure on front end components causing premature wear and possibly failure. im no expert and never had it happen, but i see what theyre sayin. i have a factory installed level, i think its 2 or 2.5 inch and its perfect for what i wanted.
EDIT. local shop was gonna charge $200 to install one. three hours to install.
