Thoughts on 2014 FX4
Hi all, making my first post here and extremely excited to be a new proud owner of a 14' FX4! Nav, Moonroof, Lux package. I've waited many years to pull the trigger and I couldn't be happier to join the F150 club. I've been reading your posts for a long time and really appreciated all your insight and the education. I basically just wanted to introduce myself and leave a few notes on my initial impressions of the truck.
- Sony sound. Maybe once you get in your 40's you are not as picky with sound quality, but I think this thing sounds great. It's everything I need and sounds darn good to me and all my occupants. I smile every time I turn this sucker on.
- Ford spray-in bedliner. Again, perfectly met my expectations and I don't need to drop the truck off somewhere to get it done. The spray is even and meticulous around corners and edges. It's also not like sand paper which I was a little concerned about. You can crawl around on it if needed w/o tearing up your knees. It looks like it will hold up. I recommend it.
- 5.0 liter: Sounds good, plenty of power. 400 miles on the odometer and getting about 16.5 MPG. I'm happy with that.
- AC Seats. My gosh, I'm practically speechless. I've never had this option before on a vehicle. All I can say is that it's well worth the money especially if you live in the Midwest.
- AC system - It's been 90 degrees around here and so far it works great. It's just as cold as an Expedition and Camry I own.
- Roll-X. I installed it a few days ago. I bought if from Morrie (Bak Outlet). He is fantastic and so far the product is mostly good. I don't expect it to be water tight, just keep out 99% of the wet stuff. I'll test that soon enough and make modifications if needed. However, I'm not thrilled with the literally 100's of metals shards all over it. I'm not exaggerating. The metal pieces managed to cause 3 pinhole tears that I've seen so far. I vacuumed for a long time (after I unrolled it) but I believe the shards did there damage when it was rolled up at the factory. I'm hoping they don't get bigger, but annoying to say the least. I expected better.
- The truck is quiet, rides smooth, and high quality throughout. It's absolutely a joy to drive. Like the sound system, I smile every time I start it up and drive it! I'm a kid in the candy store right now.
- I took a photo after I got the windows tinted, hopefully I added the photo correctly!

Thanks guys. I really like the way the 18's look on these trucks. It's a 'tough' looking wheel IMO. Also, nothing wrong a little more rubber to soften the ride, if the difference in ride is even noticeable.

Nice truck. I wish I had the cooled seats. I'm also a big fan of the 18s. I think they look great and they're a lot lighter than the 20s.
