Default Volt Meter / Gauge

I was curious to see if anyone could tell me why the 11 F150 state that they have a voltage meter when they do not. I was shown a brochure that stated all trims had a voltage meter standard.

I noticed on the LCD screen that there is a blank page/tab in the gauge menu. Does any one know if you can have a voltage meter added to that screen? Or does anyone know what that blank screen is for?

That is a good question. I wonder as well.

Their brochures from 2009 and 2010 have said the same thing too.

The Ford website and the published Ford brochure both say the following...
" Instrumentation- fuel gauge, voltmeter, oil pressure, engine coolant temp, speedometer, tachometer and odometer"

If they advertise that information, don't we as consumers have a right to get what we paid for?

At some point they replaced the voltmeter with the transmission fluid temperature gauge, and didn't update the brochures to delete voltmeter and add trans temp gauge.

Since they didn't advertise the trans temp gauge, you should take your truck back to the dealer and tell them to remove it, since it wasn't advertised.

There have been several other posts on adding a voltmeter in place of the useless coin holder, you can try this if you really have to have it.

I saw the threads about installing a volt meter, but I have a 4x4 so I don't have a coin holder.

Why can't ford put both gauges? The gauge mode on the LCD screen has a blank screen. Why have a blank screen?

There was a thread a while back where folks chipped in ideas of what other nice information could have been included on the guage screen with a few simple programming changes.

We all hope that there will be a software upgrade to add these other useful, informative and possibly entertaining features.

I have an email to Ford asking about this. I don't understand why they can't just do a software update and put the volt meter back in. They have a blank screen already.

Have you guys tried holding the trip button down and turning the key to the on position without starting the truck there, there is a bunch of readings you can find, speedometer, tachometer, and yes voltmeter, you'll find it just after the tempeture reading... may be this help or maybe you know this already
