Voice-entered Nav destination- this work for anybody?
I've tried a handful of times to set a destination using the voice prompts and haven't been successful. The Nav requires you to input the address in the form of "one-two-three Anystreet, Sometown, Mystate". It biffs every part of it except the state.....It thinks about it for a while and then comes back with some random address in Florida. I have tried speaker slowly and specifically but it doesn't help.
I end up pulling over to enter the destination because you can't do it while the vehicle is moving. When we went on a trip, I just brought along my Garmin because it doesn't have that "no typing while moving" limitation.
This was actually the very first thing I tried when I got the truck. Sitting on the dealers lot, waiting to turn left with my brand new truck, I voice entered my home address. It missed it completely getting none of the parts (other than state) correct. My son and I looked at each other and laughed. Yeah....

I have no problem in my friends 2011 and he said he doesn't either. You should hear him talk, he has a very strong Cajun accent.

I use it almost daily and it works great. I also use the sync destinations app on my iphone allot. I can sit in the hotel and send the address to my truck so its ready in the morning when I roll out

I have the same problem on my 2013. We tried inputting a destination by voice for about 10 minutes while driving down the interstate, my wife and I took turns trying the address. It didn't work for either of us, multiple tries. My 2009 F150 nav worked way better than the 2013 Nav, other than the 2013 being far prettier.

Five-0 Ret.
Mine seems to do just fine, even with my southern accent. The only times I've had problems they were my fault for not using the correct wording.
My sales guy told me that if I got into trouble, use "what can I say". It will go through all the correct wording for the task you are using. That's helped me a few times.

I had no info on how to use the System when I bought the truck. Hell the salesman threw me the keys and said" go gas it up and drive her around". I am still learning mine as well. I was able to use the system once, but then I could not get the computer to stop or end the route once I arrived.

I usually just call Sync Services, give them the destination then it will download to my NAV. Sometimes I will send to sync from mapquest (google doesnt work anymore )

My 2012 FX2 Sony Nav works flawlessly when using voice rec. for Nav inputs or anything else. I remeber when I set it up that it took like 45 min of training it for my profile. I guess the new MFT doesn't do that. The Sony NAv almost learns how you pronounce different things. With all the MFT issues Ive seen I am glad I still have the Sony NAV. Only think I can complain about is not getting texts through my unit, but that my Iphone because it works with my buddy Android.
