Shackle install on 09' - Rubber brick in the way!

Shackle install on 09' - Rubber brick in the way!
So I was doing shocks and shackles today out front in the driveway and I got screwed theres a rubber brick tucked where you would pull the drivers side shackle to spring bolt out. So I had to put it all back to stock. 
I tried to remove the u-bolt from the leafs which got me in an even bigger nightmare and did not work to clear the rear mount. Any of you 09-10 guys run into this? From the looks of it I need to remove the bed and pull the rubber brick out..

I guess its a vibration dampener Its a 2x6x8 brick that wobbles right above the left frame rail between the underside of the bed where you would normally take the top shackle bolt out
