Video of a 2009 FX4 Being Crushed!

I can understand if Ford owned the vehicle and didn't want any of the electronics going out because of water damage but all the sheetmetal and plastic parts they couldn't have parted out?
A complete waste, that is what is wrong with our western society in my opinion.

It could have been a few reasons why. But here's my best guess.
I am an Automotive Instructor, and we get vehicles donated to us all the time by dealerships. They allow us to use them for educational purposes. Which usually means the vehicle gets torn apart and put back together many many times, and when we are done with them they get sent back to the manufacturer and are usually destroyed.
There is usually to much Liability for the manufacturer if the vehicle ever gets out on the road or parts from it.
Back in 1999 when I was going to Alignment school, there was Brand new Dodge Viper that was donated in 1998 to the tech school I was at. And they were getting ready to send it back to the manufacturer to be crushed. Very depressing but this happens all the time.
Im not saying that this is why the FX4 just got smashed but could be a similar case.

When I worked for Superlift Ford and Chrystler and sometimes GM would send them pre-production trucks that they could keep for a year or two too test and bring to shows. After that they were crushed because they had no full VIN numbers usually so they couldn't be sold. Saw a lot of bad *** fully customized rigs get sent back to be crushed.

I am baffled at that video. There were so many recyclable parts on that truck. Door glasses, window regulators, door shells, box sides just to name a few. A lot more value than the $200.00 worth of steel.
