Default Very impressed with Collinite 845 Wax

So one the weekend I did a big detailing job on the truck. Clar bar, polish and two coats of collinite 845 sealer. This product is fantastic. It goes on thin, buffs off easy and does an amazing job of give the paint a lot of depth and shine

I had about 24 hours to admire my handywork before we got a major lighting storm. About 30mm of rain and 1600 lighting strikes later, everything was soaked. I drove to work yesterday and the paint just beads off like I have never seen before.

It was also pretty sunny yesterday as well and to my surprise, I couldn't find one water spot on my truck. I am amazed at how well it works and for a black truck, this is huge.

At $14/bottle, this was money well spent. I recommend it to anyone.

I just got my bottle yesterday. But wouldn't you know it, it's raining today. BUT, I'm on vacation next week so I'm going to take some time and detail the car. I'm not sure I'll clay bar it though.

What are the benefits of using the clay bar?

I've been using the 476s for years. Best wax out there for durability.

Nice write up Ian. I love the stuff as well. When I was driving back from California I hit a storm in Utah, and didn't even need to use my wipers because I waxed the windshield!

Clay bar removed contaminates that build up on the paint over time. (Pollution etc.). I had my truck 4 months and I was surprised how much built up already. The bar came out yellow after I was done. There are tests you can do with a Baggie on your hand after you've washed to see if you would benefit. If you can feel grit or bumps on your paint after a fresh wash, you have a build up. But if you do clay bar the truck, you'll need to polish and re-seal.

Thanks. I remember clay barring my Neon when I was a kid but that was probably 10 years ago.

I agree, Collinite is the best. I have both 915 Paste and the 845 bottle. 845 is definitely my favorite, goes on and comes off so easy and leaves just a beautiful shine.
