Well after googling what mice and rat poop looks like it appears I have a rat. I set 4 large and 1 small trap yesterday using a store bought bait/gel stuff. This morning all 5 traps had no bait but none were set off.

Just reset the 4 large traps with peanut butter making sure I put most of it on the bottom side of the trigger so it really has to work for it.

I read the plug in things don't work, I also read that moth ***** don't give off enough of whatever it gives off to affect mice/rats the amount needed to affect mice/rats is the same level that affects humans. I did read about the dryer sheets but couldn't really find much info about how affective they are. Once I'm done typing this I'm heading to the store.

I also though about putting a fogging bomb under the front of the truck but not sure how it would affect the truck being under a cover.

I'm honestly embarrassed by this. I'm the most cleanest and OCD person around. I bleach and pressure wash my driveway and house a couple times a year, have nothing just laying around the house or yard, cut my grass twice a week, treat my lawn with pesticide and my truck is cleaner than when it was bought new. I clean the engine bay and even wipe the frame and suspension off when I wash it.

BTW how are you supposed to keep a cat around your house to get the rat? The vehicle isn't in a garage, it's covered under a carport.

I wonder if driving the truck for a week or two and parking it in my driveway and not carport would make him move from the truck.

Put a blob of peanut butter in the middle of a sticky trap and put it under the truck in the carport

One other thing that worked for me was an accident, but I kept it going a bit. We have a trash can used to store sunflower seeds. I found that leaving the lid off invited them to get in somehow...then, if it wasn't full, they couldn't get out. I'd come out to dead mice on top of the seeds about once a week.

I guess that falls under Trap!

Well a little update but not really. I still have not caught anything other than a lizard and my dog on one of the sticky pads. Yes I searched damn near every nook and cranny I could find under the hole and under the truck and didn't find not a single sign of a rodent living in it. I even took my Makita cordless blower and blew air in every hole in the frame, on top the spare, on in and around the motor as well as over the tranny and didn't get even dust to come out of anything. So this is making me think that the rat must be living in the bushes in my garden and I'm just assuming came from the house down the street from my house that's been vacant with a tree through the middle of it for over 15years that they tore down about a month ago.

Ima still keep the traps set but so far I think I'm good! Just gonna have to drive it more.

For my lake place sheds I use the Bounce dryer sheets and moth *****. No mice or rats for years since I started this. Do the same in the boat before storing it each winter.
The moth *****, I fill small plastic tupperware bowls. Drill numerous holes in the lids smaller than the moth *****. This allows the odor to leach out into the sheds. Do not use the moth ***** in the interior of the vehicle. The odor can cause numerous health issues if you breath much of it.

Since my last post, I've ordered one the the ultrasonic devices from Amazon. Should be in this week.

I'll post up some results.

I read that the amount of moth ***** needed to deter mice/rats is the same level that affects humans so basically it does nothing for them.

The crazy thing is that my aluminum boat that stays under the cover 90% of the time(about the same as the truck) has never had a single sign of rodents.

So far still havnt seen the little MFer again or any turds since I set the traps.

Z7What, I've got the absolute cure for your problem. I'll be happy to let you store your truck in my driveway, free of charge. Just leave me the keys and I'll even drive it a few days a week to everything working properly. LOL!!!!

Just Kidding Brother!!! It sounds like you have the problem cured.
