Valentine 1 Radar detector

Valentine 1 Radar detector
Hi Guys/Girls,
I just ordered a Valentine 1 radar detector and I was wondering where is the best place to mount it. I'm thinking that just below the rear view mirror might be the best location or maybe mounted just to right of the mirror on the windshield below the mesh. If you have any pictures of your setup, I'd like to see them.
Thanks,

Got home and tossed that sucker in the trash and haven't had a speeding ticket since, I do the speed limit now. If there's somewhere I need to go, I leave early.

Police use passive radar now, when you radar detector goes off they already know your speed. Pointless.
If so, you get a heads up when cars ahead get zapped.
Or is there some new tech I am now aware of?
(Not Laser, duh)

So I see you coming, I press a button, in that split second it reads your speed. In that same second you radar detector goes crazy, I already know your speed. But most of the time we use laser, you detector simply in obsolete. But if it makes you feel better, apps like waze are more accurate, why waste your money.

Most radar detectors have a laser receiver, but too late once again?
19 years since my last speeding ticket, not a big concern, but I used to like fast cars and motorcycles.
Getting old I guess.

It also depends on your location. I'm from RI and the majority of cops use Ka band. In my 5 years of driving I have only ever seen one cop shooting lidar/laser (same thing?).
If a cop uses laser/lidar and your detector detects it, it's basically letting you know you got a ticket.
Laser cannot be used while the cop car is in motion or through the cop's windows, so it isn't used as often as radar is. It's usually a two man operation, one cop shooting laser for the cop ahead on the highway to pull them over (from what I've read).
Basically you have to find out what your state/town uses for detecting speed and see if it's worth buying a detector. I had a Uniden R3 (I returned it, waiting for one with arrows to come out) and it was the most sensitive on the market. It's pretty good at detecting instant on radar, too. Cops radar can be constant on (easy to detect) or instant on. If a cop sees someone going fast, he can shoot radar to get their speed and turn it off. If they decide it's not ticket worthy, they'll stay put. But in that short period of time it was on, a sensitive detector would detect it and allow you to slow down. So as long as you have a good detector, it could probably get you out of some tickets.
BTW, from what I read the Valentine 1 is an older unit. Works great, but I can't justify it when Uniden is probably working on a detector with arrows. Might want to look into it and see if it's worth waiting for it to come out, and if you don't care about arrows, the R3 is the best on the market at the moment.

Have had my v1 for about 4 years had it updated one time. I don't speed very often maybe 5 -10 over on the open interstate. Yes the v1 works plus the arrows are great. Will it work with instant on, No but will pick up a beep if the cop is shooting instant on at other cars up the highway. I would turn the x-band off and i the v1 is very noisy inside a big city but great on the open hwy.

Not a Valentine 1, but my Escort Passport Max is on a Blendmount and I'll never go back to suction cup mounting/cords again.

And police rarely use POP/Laser around here. 99% of the time it's Ka band and this detector has saved me more than a few times.
