I have to ask... Is there really that much of a difference? Like night and day? I'm trying to grasp how 5 hp and 40lb of torque translates in to this huge difference. I've never been in an Eco so I have no idea.

my dad has an eco and I have a 5.0. there is actually a pretty sizable difference when it comes to the seat dyno.

but since I have a v8 and my dad has a v6 my ***** is larger than his.

If you want to keep your truck for a while, 5.0 all the way. After 100k the Eco boosts will dead tired and need new turbos.. Ford builds a great V8, the ecoboost owners are all test subjects on a trial run.

5.0 on left, ecoboost on right...both are pretty awesome!

I noticed enough of a difference to pay an extra $2K for the motor. Don't plan on keeping the truck forever, and it has extended warranty so I'm not really to concerned.

Two things amaze me about this debate.

1. How come people concerned about 2-3 mpgs buy a TRUCK.

2. How ever since the v6 Eco came out, apparently every v8 truck suddenly became unable to tow.

Cracks me up.
