Default Which V8 2011 engine?

Ok, what are your thoughts? The 6.2 cast iron block that gets 13 city, 18 hwy; or the 5.0 aluminum block 4 valve that gets 15 city, 21 hwy? I'm trying to decide, and won't be able to test drive until the next few weeks when they start rolling in to my local dealer. I do some towing but nothing extreme. Im just wondering if anyone has a thought on potential reliability with these engines etc. They have both been around in the f250, and mustang respectively. Ive always felt bigger is better, but now i'm not so sure.

5.0 gets my vote, you dont need the 6.2 unless you do towing everyday. If you tow every day you need the 250, now if every other week you need the 11300 pound towing you should go with the 250 IMO. The 6.2 is just a waist and is a lux option for lux trucks. Band gor buck my vote goes for the 5.0. That being said if you can get over that old fashion mentality I bet the 3.5 would be a better option for you, recreational towing and daily use. Another thing is you cant get the 5.0 on some of the trim lvls you get the 6.2 with.......... IE lariat gets the 6.2 or the 5.0 but the xlt only gets the 5.0 same with kingranch only offered the 5.0.

I thought the LE Lariat only comes with the 6.2? That's part of my dilema. I like the Limited, but am not stuck on the 6.2.

The new 5.0 'Coyote' engine is a good choice, in my humble opinion for everyday needs.
The 3.5 EB and the 6.2 rule the roost for towing, but....do you need it?
Don't get all caught up in EPA MPG figures....those do NOT represent the real world.

a 30% better EPA MPG will translate to a 30% better real world, those number are real world, depending on how, where, and when you drive.

the standard lariat has the option of the 6.2 as well as the lariat Limited.

Actually Ford's numbers were dead on for me. 14 city, and 18hwy. And I have the 5.4 FX4 with tow package and lowest gearing you could get.

IMO, the 5.0 is the best all-around V-8 choice.

It already has some "torture testing" by the 2011 Mustang GT guys.....LOL
