Now I just need to order my interior kit to cover up that horrible fake wood.
Updated: did the install today (along with my lockpick). Works like a champ!

I just did this, and it works perfectly.
I have an iPhone, but I was having trouble where sometimes the phone would not be recognized in the USB1 port unless I unplugged it/plugged it back in... I didn't want to wear ports out over time.
I went on ebay and found a "broken" ipod. Basically, for 20 bucks I got a 5th generation ipod that would not hold a charge... and it's pink.... but for 20 bucks, I dont care the least bit.
But in my glove box it works perfectly fine. I will just take it out to update the music once in a while, otherwise, it just stays there.... and it turns out the battery is holding a charge now.
I also got the 6-inch adapter cord instead of the adapter at the top of this thread... those adapters might put too much pressure on the port and are a little more likely to come out, at least in my mind.
Either way, it works perfectly, so thank you to whoever found the USB2 port.

Just to be safe, when I did my USB2 mod I velcro'ed my 80 gig ipod to the back side of the glove box. My thinking: if anyone broke into my truck, the glove box would be one of the first places they went so this way no one knows it even exists
