I ordered mine today. Thanks for the recommendation!

Now I just need to order my interior kit to cover up that horrible fake wood.

Updated: did the install today (along with my lockpick). Works like a champ!

I just did this, and it works perfectly.

I have an iPhone, but I was having trouble where sometimes the phone would not be recognized in the USB1 port unless I unplugged it/plugged it back in... I didn't want to wear ports out over time.

I went on ebay and found a "broken" ipod. Basically, for 20 bucks I got a 5th generation ipod that would not hold a charge... and it's pink.... but for 20 bucks, I dont care the least bit.

But in my glove box it works perfectly fine. I will just take it out to update the music once in a while, otherwise, it just stays there.... and it turns out the battery is holding a charge now.

I also got the 6-inch adapter cord instead of the adapter at the top of this thread... those adapters might put too much pressure on the port and are a little more likely to come out, at least in my mind.

Either way, it works perfectly, so thank you to whoever found the USB2 port.

Just to be safe, when I did my USB2 mod I velcro'ed my 80 gig ipod to the back side of the glove box. My thinking: if anyone broke into my truck, the glove box would be one of the first places they went so this way no one knows it even exists

I did the same with my hard drive. Mostly to be hidden and out of the way so I can use my glove box...but that's I good thought too. Haha seems more like a "factory" option now that it's not seen and no one knows it's there.

Anybody got an update where I can buy the mini usb to hook into sync with the female usb on the other end? Every link I check that was on ebay seems to be a dead link.

just to confirm, the end going into the truck (into the Sync) is a mini usb? so you need a mini USB male to a female USB?
