$22

It might be too big in capacity or have some kind of software lock... or just be defective...

glad you got the problem solved

I have absolute hell with my SYNC system and i hate it. Every time i connect my ipod through usb it makes me go to settings, choose usb, then push ok. I turn the truck off then on i gotta do it all over again even when i never unplugged it or anything. sometimes it just shuts off too and makes me go in and do all that again. very annoying

I have heard that the more you use it the easier it gets to work with. Fingers crossed.
I am going to leave the thumb drive in and see if it acts up . We should be able to plug it in and then have the truck sense the usb device is there. then the options menu would follow. One would think!

In your Sync menu go into "Media Settings" then "Select Source" and select USB. Be prepared to do this occasionally as Sync has a mind of it's own.

I hear this in my head every time Sync screws up

"I'm sorry Dave, I can't let you do that...."

Well that did not last long. I was driving today and decided to listen to the tunes on my thumbdrive. I would be damned if it stopped working. The USB port is not even recognized on the control panel. Small problem but aggravating..grr. I am going to do to the Ford dealer and see if they can replace the USB port. grrrr.

Did you try this?

In your Sync menu go into "Media Settings" then "Select Source" and select USB. Be prepared to do this occasionally as Sync has a mind of it's own.

I had this problem when I first tried to use a thumb drive. I reformatted the thumb drive and returned it to the store exchanging it for one of a different manufacturer. The new one worked fine.

Now on occasion when I try to listen to music off the thumb drive by pushing the AUX button it won't detect anything. But if I use hands free and tell sync to use USB2 (Which I have hooked up with a line running to my glove compartment) it finds it everytime.
