Default Upsizing tires... bigger spare?

Just curious, to all of you guys who put bigger tires on your trucks, are you increasing the size of your spare as well to match the outside diameter of your new tires?

I'm not going to, after buying four 275/70x18 Duratracs I can't afford another tire LOL. If I have to use the spare I'll just limp it into a shop and get the flat fixed.

A plug kit isnt going to do you any goos though if the puncture is in your sidewall or if its catastrophic failure/blowout lol.

Default Yes and No .....

Its always nice to have a spare that is the same size as your regular tires , So yes its a great idea but if money is a factor than NO you dont need it Tires are super expensive compared to 10 yrs ago ... hell back then I could get 2 for the price of one nowadays ... Kinda sucks ..wages are trending down and prices are getting higher .... Thanks to dumb liberals

Not sure if things changed but with 4wd you need same size on all 4..so if u want a spare yes..gotta change it.

running two different outer diameters on the same axle will screw up the gears if i'm not mistaken

only need to be the same size if using 4wd.... if you are just in 2wd the smaller spare is fine for temporary use. many cars use the tiny donut instead of identical diameter tires. that's why they are for temporary use. Being a truck our "spare tire" is an actual every day tire that can go a lot longer. I'd not bother with getting a bigger one unless you have money to burn. I considered getting the cheapest same diameter tire I could find, but in the end I dont think it is worth it.
