Truck had a wtf moment
Okay, this probably should be in off topic but this gen of trucks is the only one I have ever known to do it.
Today I got into my parent's 09 f150 xlt and by habit I lock the doors as soon as I am in the vehicle (self defense thing) anyway, I forgot that when you lock this truck even just with the door locks it will activate the alarm system. Well I turned the key and the truck started but the alarm activated as well.
So I sat there trying to get the stupid thing to turn off (the alarm) and it didn't.
Ended up driving down the road like that just for fun (short drive and not well populated) and the alarm still wouldn't turn off
I'm really curious now if anyone else has experienced this or am I the only one "special" enough to find this out?

seen a jag cruising down the freeway in Oakland with the horn and lights just going off. found out it was a stolen car when the driver hit the offramp doing 90+ and wrecked it then ran like a bat out of hell!

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll get some video of it tomorrow if I can
I don't mean once you start driving, I mean locking the doors after you get in but before you stick the key in the ignition.

I often get out of the truck, lock the doors manually then open the back door to get my briefcase. Of course setting off the alarm in the process. I have to put the key in and turn to run to shut it off.

To the OP: Yes, this has happened to me TWICE in the past 2 weeks. (I have an aftermarket alarm installed at my dealer.) Yesterday was the 2nd time.
#1. Click the "unlock" button on my controller.
#2. Listen for the beep from the controller and to HEAR the doors unlock.
#3. Get into the truck and turn the key.
#4. Alarm sounds and won't quit. (The first time this happened I started driving, which my alarm people told me really screws it up.)
#5. Turn key off and get out of truck (alarm still sounding)
#6. Use fob to turn off alarm. (test lock-unlock a few times)
#7. Get back into truck and all is well.
No one can tell me why this happens.
