Upgrade to raptor wheels?

Originally I wanted to do a small lift an upgrade to fuel wheels with ridge grapplers on my 2012 xlt but I was told that with aftermarket wheels you need to maintain them and they wont have the ride quality of factory wheels. I looked around and found you can buy 17" raptor wheels for around $600 a set. Would these need to be maintained life aftermarket and has anyone done this? Maybe post a few pics if you have?

The tires will affect your ride. Wheels only if you anything over 18''. Tires anything 33'' and up.

Not sure what needs to be "maintained" about them.

I was told you need to basically keep them clean and they'll deteriorate quicker and be affected by snow salt and easier to chip and stuff like that

As a general rule that applies to all wheels. If you don’t clean them once in a while any wheel will start to wear or show signs of wear.

There is a thread in this section specifically for raptor wheel pictures with several pages of posts.

More aftermarket rims are shiny. The shiny comes from something on the surface that wears out. Needs more care. Plenty of OEM rims like that, too. See nearby thread about it.
