all good points fellas...

really all i would be doing is POSSIBLY adding nav and upgraded souns system..and change colours. agreed its probably not enough to add another 2yrs of truck payments for whats basically the same truck albeit two yrs newer.

think i am gonna pass on teh upgrade and spend that money on extras

Don't be a payment shopper. Who cares about the monthly payment it's the cost of the truck that matters. I could get you a Porsche 911 for the same monthly payment you're making now it would just be for 12 years and you'd spend $30k on interest.

The one mistake consumers are rapidly making is only looking at the monthly payment, and if it fits in their budget. Chief of those mistakes are those 20 year RV loans at 12% interest with $5,000 down, but a low monthly payment. Personally I'd rather pay off what I already have, especially if your truck has no problems. You never know when financial situations could change. It's a good idea to keep your liabilities as low as possible, especially in this unstable economy.

I would want to know the cost difference....

How much is the difference between your trade in and the New truck.

With a new truck you would be buying two years as well as a new warranty. If they want to deal ask for some extras.

I would make them and offer at what you think would be a deal you could not pass up and if they take it...do the deal if not, you have not lost a thing.

i like my 2011, but there are a couple of things i would upgrade if i could..nav, sound system..

i have had my 2011 for a bit over 2 years now, so i would likely be starting that over again, but am i crazy not to take advantage of this?
I would at least go down and check it out. I traded in my 12 for a 13. I did my research before going in, test drove 7 different trucks that had the options I wanted; found the one that felt the tightest and said lets deal. The good thing is you have the upper hand, the dealer is trying to get rid of the trucks and you don't need a new one, you just want one.

I negotiated for about two hours with my rep before he got the GM. The GM and I negotiated for another 45 minutes. I wrote down my numbers for what I wanted for my truck and what I was willing to pay for the 13 and he said no. I said cool, I know your numbers I'll take the weekend to think about it and let you know if I'm still interested on Monday. Dealer walked off, came back a minute later and gave me exactly what I wanted.

And now I am completely happy, I upgraded to the nav and 700watt sound system and was able to pick a truck that was the best quality. I have had no problems with this one, the 12 had a few issues, and every day I sit down in the truck I feel great for making the trade.

Go down there and see if there is something you like, you can always say no.

I can say that I am very happy with the navigation with the 8" touch screen and the 700 watt stereo system with HD radio. Traffic alerts feature of the navigation is great, and Sony stereo sounds great also (my opinion). I would make sure they have installed the current Sync upgrade if you should decide to trade. Good luck with your choice.

I traded a 11 xlt for a loaded 13 fx4 a year ago. Payment stayed the same. But like someone said. The trick ya. I told them what I wanted to pay and the guy told me they got it for that amount. So I didn't fine comb the paperwork and took their word. BAD MISTAKE! Love my truck but the upgrades cost me about 10k more when I could of done leather nav DVD player and aftermarket sunroof for much less. Live and learn though.

Go look. If you want the truck, make it work. You are only coming around this place once and if you can afford it and want it, then do it.
