Upfitter switch install - wiring help please

Pin 2 on the upfitter switch is the illumination input. Pin 1 on the dimmer switch is the illumination output. If you run a wire from the dimmer pin 1 to the upfitter pin 2 that will get the AUX 1, Aux 2 and so on lit up like all the other parts of the dash when the lights are on.

Sorry for the confusion. I do have pin #2 on the upfitter switch wired to the grey/violet pin on the 4x4 switch. I thought that would provide the illumination and I was hoping to not have to splice into another wire. But I suppose if I have to I will.

Just to finalize this. I was able to complete my whole install and it is working. I'll probably go back when it gets warmer out and organize the wiring a bit better and cleaner. I pulled the power and ground from the passenger side kick panel. I ground it to the ground bolt behind the aux fuse panel and used an add-a-circuit to get the power.
I was able to get the illumination from the 4x4 switch just above. I think the 3M tap I was using was a bit too large and I was not getting a good connection. Swapped that out for a posi-tap connection and voila, everything is working. Loving it.
Only using one of the four switches at the moment, but plan to add some hood mounted lights and a dual amber/white 40" bar behind the grill. If there are any additional questions please let me know and I will do my best to provide knowledgeable answers.

^ very good project. A few years ago our volunteer fire dept got two 2009 F550 cab/chassis to build up as rescue/brush trucks and I was equipment foreman at the time. The aux switch bank was standard equipment and not only made add ons much easier, but neater looking.
I also went to a local trophy shop and had a "white on black" plate engraved to what the switch function was and stuck it just above the swicth bank. Was able to get the spacing and centering dead on. Looked really close to factory.
