Updating Sync software for radio
Went to syncmyride.com
Registered me as my wife and connected my Samsung Galaxy S5
It said there was a software update for the radio.
Downloaded it and tried for 2 days to install the software update in the radio.
Is says no media on the USB device.
Can take the USB device to my Apple or IBM computer and read it.
Put it back in the usb on the 2014 F150 Truck and it will not read the usb device.
Got any suggestions.

The usb stick needs to be formatted to fat32 the the file need to be in the main directory. I've done it once, I believe there's a step by step on fords site or Google it.

Was registered and looking at it on my Samsung phone. And it said there was I think it was a Sync software update. Gen1v441buildEE309Fupdatefromv430FpackageRev2
We went to another computer. And copied the files off the USB flash drive.
Reformatted the USB flash drive.
And my buddy copied the files back over. Forgot how he copied them.
We was sticking the USB flash drive in and it was saying there was nothing on the USB flash drive.
We had another computer and my Smart phone and was using the steps that ford had.
Finally after 2 days. It took the software update just a little while ago.
Don't understand why Ford didn't have it so it could use your smart phone and threw Bluetooth update the software for me.
And I see you have left the microsoft software in probably the 2015 truck and gone with Blackberry.
I would of Gone with Garmin.
Know Dodge has it. But the Garmin has the better GPS in their stuff also.
Thanks very much for the replies from everybody.
I was struggling.
And tomorrow the truck will be 90 miles away with the wife at work, so there is no way I could do anything with it.

The Sync update instructions are not very good. I followed them and got stuck, just like you, because I ended up at a screen telling me that it could not find media, or something similar.
Instead, go into your Bluetooth menu for the truck, "advanced" or "system" settings, and press "OK" on the radio tuning **** when you see the choice for Application Install. It will then do its thing and read the USB stick files.
And, once the voice and screen tell you that the update is complete, you have to wait for the system to fully reboot and come back to life (takes about 10 minutes and looks like nothing is happening while you wait). Only then can you remove the USB stick. You then have to go back to syncmyride.com and upload the "XML" file that your truck puts on the USB stick, to let ford know that you have the update installed. Look on the website for instructions.
Hope this helps.

Spent 2 days trying to get the downloaded software into the radio.
Didn't know if I downloaded it into a Macbook pro and copied it to a USB flash drive that it couldn't read it.
And I couldn't go to a IBM computer and download it again. Because during that time it was pushing me to say I had updated the software.
I couldn't update the software because the radio couldn't read it on the USB drive.
I had a dude that makes a living on Computers helping me today.
And he was saying Ford must not have you in their computer yet.
Or it must already be updated to the newest software.
Not sure. But it won't read the USB and start the update.
And I think in the manual it said you can take it to the dealer but there would be a charge.
Like the dealer, but I can't afford to have them to do work on my truck that needs done.
They want something like 200.00 to tell me what is wrong with a truck . and another 250.00 to finish the job. And the last job was a crankshaft sensor went out.
The sensor was like 40.00.
I have pressed the button on the steering wheel a lot and talked to the lady.
Not one time has she understood me with my Alabama Accent.
Don't think she can do it.
So what I want her to do, she can't understand me.
But on my Samsung S5 Phone I can use Google all day and talk to her and she gets about everything right.
