Default 275/65/20s or 285/60/20s?

2013 XLT with 5.0 and 3.55 rear-end. Recently put on a set of Platinum 20" take offs and a 2" leveling kit in the front only. Wife gave me the go-ahead to buy tires for Christmas. Spent hours on here researching and have narrowed it down to either 275/65/20 Toyo AT2s or Duratracs, or 285/60/20 Duratracs. Just worried the taller tire may dog my truck a little more, but from what I've read, a wider tire may do the same? Is the difference in these tires so small that I won't be able to tell a difference with either? Probably ordering one or the other this week and need some opinions.

Two good choices even though I would give the nod to the Toyo's. Being a 34x11 they'll fill in the wheelwells a little better and being a stock size tire on the F-250's in case you need a replacement in a hurry they'll be easier to find. Any loss of power can be corrected with a programmer later on. Expect to lose about 2 mpg or more from the stock tires but the truck will look great afterward's.

I was stuck between these two tires sizes as well for a few months.. Couldn't choose between the two so I went with a bfgoodrich t/a ko2 285-65-20. =]]

Ordered myself a programmer as well!

Currently deployed so I can't comment on how the new tires and programmer will will perform and look on my 2013 5.0 with 3.55 gears..

I've been toying with the same recently. My big complaint is how expensive the 285/60/20's are. They are significantly more money. That said, I really like how they look. And since we go camping on the beach occasionally, the extra width would be nice.

I'll likely go with a 275/65/20 Nitto Terra Grappler G2, as $267ea (after rebate, with shipping) from discount tire direct. VS $369 ea for the 285/60/20 Duratracs. That's over $400 more, just can't justify it.

I think the performance loss from the extra height/weight of the tires will be comparable between the two sizes.

Ended up going with the 275/65/20 AT2s. I just couldnt stomach the price of the Duratracs ($1600 OTD for Discount Tire). Plus, when I decided what I wanted, I called my local tire shop on New Years Eve and he had a set in stock. I paid cash for them and was able to get them for $1000 OTD. I had them put on yesterday and drove it home and thats been it as I have to work the next few days, but so far I like 'em
