Question Underdrive Pulleys, Yes or No

I have a 2010 Ford F150 4.6L 3-Valve that is mostly stock. At the moment I have a custom true dual, x-pipe exhaust. But I don't think it is working correctly because the x-pipe should be closer to transmission and not at the end of my drive shaft. This week I'll have an aFe Stage II Dry-S and a custom tune very soon. Other than that,

How does everyone feel about Underdrive Pulleys?

Some say that the AC can barely keep up with the size of the cab on a really hot day.....are you sure you want to under drive it further?
If you tow significant weight, I'd rather not have the water pump under driven either....

X2 ive heard the water pump is the first to blow with the under drives, more from the 97-03 crowd though but those were the 4.6 2v, if you have the 3v, then you have the 6r80 right? But still yea ive heard negative things.

I've used UDP's on my last 2 vehicles. Noticed minimal to no gains. Bang for the buck is simply not there.

I noticed a nice difference on my Infiniti. Especially when rev matching gears. The engine also spun up better. No hard data, just my notes. I say go for them.

Good luck rev matching an f150. In the case of a MT I preferred the light weight flywheel over UD crank pulley. I tried both routes on my STi back in my ricer days. Now on my TBSS I noticed zero difference with the UDP. The AWD TBSS being a 5k lb automatic truck would be comparable to our 5,700 - 6k lb AT trucks.

Thanks for all the replies! I don't think I'll be upgrading my underdrive pulleys. But I do not do heavy towing nor use the A/C a whole lot. I'm more of a windows down kind of guy

I'm just looking for performance upgrades. Anyone else recommend anything?

I have the same motor stock and just added a 93 tune from 5 star, it really woke the motor up and with intake and exhaust it should be that much better.

Is the Afe a drop in? It is hard to find parts for these motors.

Yes but that's also a tinylittle jinfinity compared to a behemoth f150. There are scenarios that underdrive pulleys are effective, a big truck isn't one of them.
