Default Under seat storage box

I was bored so I decided to make a box to take up the rest of the space under the back seat since I have a sub on one side. I wanted something to throw my hitch, locking pins, ratchet straps, tow rope and other things in so they can stay together half organized and not be rolling around. After messing around this is what I came up with. Used mdf board and some wood glue with small finish nails to hold it all together then ratchet strapped it tight to dry and seam sealed the inside so it will be water tight. Not sure why other than maybe I can remove it and fill it with ice and have a cooler in a pinch lol. Tomorrow I'm going to spray it all in bed liner to black it out and further seal it, plus it will look cool and make it pretty much indestructible. I'll post more pics after its all done.

Looks great..Nice job..But also looks pretty heavy..Suppose if you plan on leaving it in though that isn't an issue..Wish I had access to right tools to make those cuts..

Nice job! Put some carpet that matches your factory carpet like I did and it looks factory, one of the best mods ive done to my truck so far

theres some in the thread I posted, I didnt put the carpet on till later, so those pics are further along in the thread. I opted to not do the floor and instead go out around my sub to make it look more factory.

Good work, although your design blocks access to the small storage compartments under the seat of the 2011 XLT Screw. If that is a problem, the design in the other thread is 3-sided, allowing use of the small storage pockets.

Here are some answers to some previous comments,

Made from 1/2" MDF (same stuff as subboxes)
Overall length is 35 1/2" (half inch short of 3 feet) it fits from the sub box to just under the edge without poking out from under the seat on door side.
Width is 10"
Front height is 7 3/4"
Rear height is 5 1/4"

Someone mentioned it looked heavy so I weighted it and is 12lbs that includes the bed liner coating.

I was going to carpet it to have a factory look but sprayed it in bed liner instead. The black goes with the truck and it is super durable now. Plus with storing stuff like a hitch and tow straps etc in it when it gets dirty I can just take it out and hose it off and ta-da brand new again.

It is very easy to access and I made it completely removable (either slide out or lift up seat and drop stuff into it). And doesn't interfere with the factory storage pocket behind it under the seat.

Thanks for the comments and I hope this answers any questions. Any others are welcome and I will answer them ASAP. I will post pics of it tomorrow once it is totally dried and also some of it installed in the truck.

not bad, Looks good with the bedliner on it. looks like your seats dont sit level with the other side though. 10 inches you say? Mine was 8 if i remember right. Have you noticed it not being level like it looks in that picture?

Thanks! The 10" is the width of the box front to back its only 7 3/4" high. The seats are perfectly level it's just the angle of the pic I'm guessing, here's another one taken at the same time at a little different angle looks a lot more level. I noticed it too in the pic and checked when I got home and the seat was fine, just a weird angle I guess.
