Default "unable to program integrated key"

I posted this in another thread but didn't get any responses, I installed the remote start and tried to program the 2 new keys. I was ale to program one, but the other keeps saying "unable to program integrated key". I've tried it a few times but keep getting the same message. Any ideas?

If you have at least two programmed keys then you can add up to eight without dealer help.

My truck actually added the new key to the PATS system - because the truck starts and runs - but wasn't able to sync the keyless entry functions.

The display on the dash indicated this with a message... I am hoping the dealer can fix it when I get my remote start module enabled this Thursday.

I installed the ford plug and play remote start system last night... thus the need for new keys. The new keys have an additional button for the remote start function.

Sounds just like the same issue i have with mine also.. the dealer could not get the 2 "new" keys with the RS button on them to relaibly work when they enabled my remote start. They will ALWAYS start the truck when you put the keys in the ignition and turn it, BUT 90% of the time the keyless functions such as lock/unlock/ remote start do NOT work with my new keys...

i tried programming the keys myself using the outlined sequence in the manual since i still have two functioning factory keys and i do not get any erros at all programming the new keys??? like i said, PATS work fine, the keyless functions not so much. i even installed new batteys in both keys thinking that was it and the key worked 4-5 times in a row then its back to 90% not working again..... pretty frustrating to have two new EXPENSIVE keys that dont work 90% of the time....

Did the dealership wipe all of the existing keys and start adding them over again?

I'll let you know what happens ... my install is tomorrow morning. If they can't fix it then I intend to get Ford customer service involved.

Not sure, the truck only had the 2 OEM keys programmed to it so they should have only had to add my two new keys and not wipe the old ones out?? regardless he spent an hour just trying to program the keys and finally gave up....

And since i didnt buy the keys from them i didnt have any leverage to make them keep trying or to give me a new key instead....

my remote key fob for the long range remote start works EVERY time though, of course since that fob came with the remote start i dont know if they needed to program that one to work with the truck or not?

When you're programing a new 3rd key you must also re-program the first two original keys.

Thats not how the owners manul states it? you feed in the 1st good key, 2nd good, key than the key to be programmed?

plus my 2 OEM keys still work fine? its the replacement keys that work sporadically

The technician struggled a little today but all of my keys are working again...

The trick had to do with changing some access code for the keyless entry - done w/ their proprietary tool...

This was either after wiping the existing security settings or changing an option that allows for "unlimited keys".

The technician stated that I was above the key limit (I thought it was 8) but he said it was four (4). I have 5 keys.

So if you get the dreaded "can't program integrated key" message from your dash information center after performing a user end key addition then there is hope.

Now the technician had to log in to the Ford dealer support site and do some reading before it was all said and done. You'll have to find a technician that is willing to go above and beyond a normal work order.

Good luck!
