It did take off kind of slow, but they don't develop all of their HP in the beginning. It's kind of like a turbo....takes time to develop due to the lack of air movement. Faster it goes, the more HP it makes...I really don't know where the top end limiter is though.....air pressure against it going faster???.....someone who flies a jet would know..

I think I could take him 0-60 though...

I'm sure the cab blocking the air intake is starving it.
Doesn't look like he really thought this out. probably needs a scoop.

Well, not quite. I believe he said it produced 1960 pounds of thrust. As a reference, a light jet such as a Cessna CJ1 uses two Williams FJ44-1A engines. Each one of those engines is rated at 1900 lbs thrust, and the max takeoff weight of the plane is 10,600 lbs. Put another way, each of those engines is only pushing 5,300 lbs.

230 metric tonnes is roughly equivalent to 253 US tons, which is 506,000 lbs. A fully loaded 777-200 would weigh about this much, and it uses two 74,000 lb thrust engines.

Yeah with the cab in the way there is no way it is getting enough air! Granted it looks great and I am jealous but probably doesn't work well.
