Type of grease for driveshaft yoke on 2011
As maintenance I plan to do my own service on the driveshaft yoke by drilling and installing a zerk fitting so I can lube it without having to pull the shaft. What kind of grease do I need for my grease gun? I think the Ford yoke service kits includes lithium grease. Can I assume that a high quality lithium base grease will work?
Thanks

Hi There!!
I just completed TSB 12-7-13 in my driveway on Sunday. The Ford kit for this
Slip/Bump TSB specifies Motorcraft XG-8 PTFE Grease that is Teflon based.
I would like to install a grease zerk like the others here, maybe you could take some pictures and explain some of the steps you took on this project.
THANKS!!

I need to find the right grease before I do this. I will take pictures when I go ahead with it.
I have been installing Zerks on all kinds of equipment for over 30 years. Lately mostly on ATV's because the factories have cut corners.
Anyhow if you decide to install zerks (on most anything) I will save you some time by providing the NAPA part numbers for everything you need.
#BK 715-1060 90 degree 1/4 inch course thread zerks (straight, or 45 degree will be a different number)
# BK 220 1/4 inch course thread, bottoming tap (make sure you buy a bottoming tap as there is not clearance on the other side in some applications for a regular one)
#BK HSD 36 drill bit which also cross references to a #7 drill which you might have in your tool box.

My search has led me to a Dupont heavy duty teflon grease that they recommend for heavy equipment and ag machinery.
I am going to order a tube.
I will follow up with pics when I install the zerk.

Sorry to lead this thread a little bit off track but, I just had the whole slip/bump service done about two weeks ago and my truck has gotten just as bad as it was before. Since the service, I've driven approximately 800 miles. Can I bring it back to the dealer? What should I do?
