I did not mean to be too down on the 6.2 as I am sure it is great when you push the skinny pedal....Man, with a level, 35" tires AND a tuner....and the 6.2, your truck must be really something!!!!

Motortrend, that magazine still exists, who reads this trash anyway. Hey, I look at it that the F150 with the V8 gets better gas mileage than the Lamborghini With hi end performance nobody cares how much gas it sucks. Do you think people who buy large yachts ask about fuel mileage. The only thing that has changed in the past 30 years is the PRICE of the fuel that goes in the tank. Tractor trailers and RV's get 8 mpg, doesnt seem to be stopping retirees and truckers from gettin down the road...

No big deal, you have to drive one to know what's up. The eco and 6.2 are about as fast as each other but drive much differently. Truck is something alright but now when i tell my girl I love her I have to say I love you more than my truck and Harley dear.

I knew the MPG before I ordered. And I could not be happier with my choice! In fact, I was surprised it gets what the EPA said it would get.
It is plenty fast and sounds right getting there! To me, worth every penny at the pump.

I don't like the term GAS GUZZLER. I didn't buy my truck because of the MPGs... I bought it to get the job done. Usually, it's the people who 'complain' about GAS GUZZLERS are the first one who call me when they need a job done.

Own a raptor, love the low cost of ownership
This little spreadsheet is something I made when deciding what vehicle to purchase. I normally only own for 2 years and 60k miles for reference.
Only had the raptor 2 days and have it up over 15mpg. It's a great truck to cruise in, so I don't feel like I have to be into the pedal much.

Inebriated 4 ur safety
OP, I don't think the 6.2 will go away. It is a great engine that people will pay a premium to own. I think Ford sells enough of the other engines to off set the 6.2L EPA numbers. So in a way, it is good for 6.2L owners that Ford sells a lot of EBs. Otherwise, Ford might have to cut the 6.2L to meet regulations, but I don't think that will happen.

There are other reasons people have picked the 6.2L like...
Not a chance of EPAS issues. Some of those people are really upset!
No CAC to worry about either. Those people are at least getting noticed with new CAC's.
Now don't get me wrong, I drove both the 5.0 and the Ecoboost (the boost has lots of grunt!) and I think they are both really great power plants. I just felt the 6.2 gave me all the power of the Eco with a slight chance of less problems down the road with that wonderful V8 sound...and I was willing to pay the price, both at purchase time and at the pump.
And I would do it again!
