Default Tweeter location

I bought an Infinity Kappa 680.9CS component speaker set.

I am trying to figure out the best place to put the tweeters on my door panel. I have two locations in mind. See the photos below:

A or B?

Thanks!

In my opinion, the higher up and closer to your ear level you can get, the better. Here are a few pictures of how I mounted my Boston Acoustic tweeters. They come with a mount that flush mounts them against a surface, but then angles the tweeter themselves at about 45 degrees so you get an excellent sound stage. I didn't want to hack into my door panels either and this only required 2 small holes on each panel.

In other words, location A gets my vote

A is where I did them in my 11. B is where I did them in my 10. I like them better in the A location. I used a dremel to cut out the holes. Worked out really nice.

2 pieces of advice that will save you a headache with the kappas is 1 zip tie everything especially the dongles , don't lit them hang . 2 you may need to use a backer plate on the woofer my 2011 scab required 1/8 to 1/4 inch spacer plate to keep the window from hitting the speaker it would just contact it enough to flip out the safety feature of the window and only when it was 3/4 of the way down,

Sounds like A is the place to put them. Does the plastic cut easily? I was just going to use a hole saw on my drill. I have a hole saw that is the exact size of the hole I need.

The Kappas came with all sorts of mounting brackets. The ones I plan on using are flush mounted and swivel.

Also where can you get the backer plates to keep the window from hitting the speaker?

Thanks!

Backer plates are available at sonicelectronix.com Or you can make them out of mdf or ply.
