Tunes for Driving in Winter Conditions

Thanks! I'll probably put a set of Nitto Exo Grapplers on before next winter. The tires I have on now have been great on snow and ice so far.

Like most Nitto products, those are great tires. Just keep in mind they aren't snow tires. I'm not saying that to dissuade you, just adding to your knowledge base so you can further make an informed decision one way or the other. That said, I grew up in NY 30mi from Canada and have never once had snow tires in my life. (That's also not an argument AGAINST snow tires... just saying you don't NEED them, I'm sure they are helpful to those that have them)

This. Winter Tires (true winter tires not M+S rated all seasons) make a HUGE difference in how your vehicle handles in winter conditions. A lot of people feel that their all season are perfectly fine for winter use until they use a good winter tire.

Those Nittos are not a snow tire. There are definitely better options for you.

I have a SCT Livewire with custom tunes from both 5* and MPT. The issue with winter driving in the Muck is the improved throttle response/Tip-In. My 5* performance tunes throttle response is Immediate, while the MPT tunes are a little less so. Depending on conditions, even with my dedicated Winter tires I can break loose quiet easily. I use Cooper discoverer M+S tires. Been awesome. Going back to the stock tune helped immensely, but that was no fun? So this time of year I mostly run on the SCT 93 Performance tune. Depending on conditions I'll put her in second gear to start out, or use 4x4. During the winter I use a Shurtrax weight bag in the bed (which holds about 400lbs.). A lot of guys don't like to use those because of having to fill and drain with water. But it's not an issue for me. If it's gonna be nasty for a while it just takes a couple minutes to fill. Most of the time it's empty

I roll with my 91 PT with the traction control eliminated with no issues.

There is a device called Pedal Commander, it looks like it allows positive (faster response) and negative (slower response) adjustment. I'd give them a call to verify. If you could add some laziness to the throttle it might help in snowy conditions.
When it's real bad here in the D.C. area, I turn on Off Road Mode which reduces throttle response, it helps when the ice is bad.

I just vary the pressure at the bottom of my foot.
