Question Tuners and Waranty?

If I were to tune my truck, would that void warranty even though I could revert back to stock tune at any given point?

Only if Ford can prove without a doubt the tune caused a problem. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnus...s_Warranty_Act

nah, only if you can prove that Ford can't prove that the tune caused the issue, big, big difference...

Thanks for the input. I just don't want to put myself in a situation where I shoot myself in the foot. Has anyone on here ever dealt with a dealership, with a tuner installed, during the warranty period?

this really has been discussed 100's of times.

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=site%3Af150foru...s+and+warranty

The chances of a dealer refusing to do work under warranty because of a tune are slim, but it's always possible. Some will look the other way, some will argue that the increased power from your tune caused your wipers to malfunction and therefore won't cover that. Most of the time it's somewhere in between.

"Be ready to pay if you wanna play" type-thing... if you get away with it, good, if not, you should know what to expect beforehand.

In any court room here in the states the burden of proof is on the plaintiff, not the defendant. I guess you nucks' get the short end of the stick yet again.

that implies that you already fought with Ford and your dealer for a while, decided that it was going nowhere, and decided to take them to court. That costs a lot of time, money and is far from a guaranteed win. Some make it sound like this good old Magnusson law is the end of it all, the mighty combination of the Bible and Holy Water against the evil dealer, the "get out of jail free" card, "just mention it and the dealer will fix whatever is broken"... It's not, that's all I'm saying.

I went to small claims court here against a dealer, I had facts and reports from an expert, but no eye witness. He had a service tech (the "expert"), and Wikipedia (not even kidding). I got fu**ed bad, so you can understand why I dont really trust the court system when it comes to aftermarket modifications.
