tuners

I went with MPT. Called and they even gave me a discount code for being a f150 member. They are no longer a site vendor but they'll still issue you a discount. Awesome customer service. Ended up getting the x4 for 360 shipped.
Also, don't bother getting a Eco tune. I used it for a 800mile trip and I got 18.4 avg on the Eco, on the way back I did 19.9 with a performance chill tune.
I'm running a 1.5 level and running 33 nittos. 5.0 here

A guy at my local dealer told me that. That's why I went with that one. He said with the others it will show up if they dig enough with their IDS. When facing a potential warranty problem (that probably wouldn't be caused by the tune anyway) it would be beneficial to not leave a trail.

Beer, Boats, and Trucks.
SCT X4. I have the exact engine/truck as you. I am running canned tune for now (just because I want to do a few more tunable upgrades before buying a custom tune). Performance on canned tuned is next to nothing on a mostly stock 5.0, but MPG's went up a solid 1.5/2 MPG city (haven't done enough highway to know for sure).

Example of mode 6 data from my truck...
The only thing I found for certain that raises a flag is running mode 6 data while still custom tuned, it's pretty obvious by the code it gives, took my truck back down to stock using ONLY the x4 and re ran the IDS data test and it's clean as a whistle.
Now the only thing my findings prove is that is NOT obvious to the dealer tech, it could very well be determined by higher tier tech's at Ford but would require the ecm being sent to their labs for in depth diagnostics.
Now if it were to come down to a failure and they blame it on the tune, they have to prove it, but in any event I bought my tuner from stage3motorsports with full powertrain warranty. Likely never need it however, I can wipe the ecm back to as built with IDS so all traces would be wiped out any way, the honest in me is why I paid extra for the warranty/tuner.

Last year I purchased a sct x4 with 5 five star custom tunes through stage three Motorsports for $389. The x4 by itself without any of the 5 star goodness on it was $399.
So I actually saved 10 bucks and got 4 tunes that I've never tried and one bad *** 93 octane tune that I've run exclusively since march of this year.

That's for the input. I was wondering about canned tunes as I am likely going to add some other performance items first. And as for warranty I am a Ford trained technician. Sitting with an ids in my lap as I type right now
