I too am on the fence about getting one. I've always tuned everything I've had, but I've never had anything with a warranty to worry about lol. I've always done it right as they went out. I know it will help with power and mpg's , but what happens if I have that stupid 5.0 knock after changing the oil the first time lol. I guarantee you they will say the tuner did it.

Just don't buy the sct tuner without custom tunes. Sct still hasn't fixed the engine fan bug that has been around since 2011. All three stock sct tunes, cause my engine fan to be continuously on. I will be getting my mpt custom tune emailed tomorrow.

I have an 09 with 5.4....is that affected by the fan bug?

That's extremely subjective. You'll have to research for yourself and go with what/who you feel comfortable with.
