Pro Comp looks to be a knock off of Hypertech, and Hypertech is a terrible platform to start with. Why is the dealer "insisting" you get a programmer? An SCT or Edge based strategy will be much better and have custom tuning ability. Talk to VMP, 5star, or Power Hungry Performance for information on better devices.

x2. Go SCT in my opinion since it can alter your TCM and get rid of any buggy shift patterns or sudden shifts. Edge cant do that currently but any of the shops listed above can take care of the programming for you and provide quality products. I just think your dealer might have an "agreement" with a local ProComp supplier (Otto is right they ARE the same as Hypertech when it comes to tuners/programmers). Good news is if they are cool with warranty work on a Hypertech modded truck under warranty they shouldnt whine about a SCT tuned one!

SCT or Edge for sure. I wouldn't even consider any other company. Plus you can custom tune with them (edge becomes the gryphon then) which is a great thing to do.
