Had mine installed today. Leer 100XL. Should help keep the dogs warm during Alaskan winter excursions.

Here's mine. A Jason built in early 2011. Reinforced top, the upgraded gate and closure, and power hard-wired. It's really nice. But it's for sale. I bought it for a specific purpose which isn't applicable now. Id prefer a tonneau.

Question/favor for the guys with roof rails for cross bars on their caps.

How long are the rails, if u could get a measurement for both bed sizes that would be awesome.

How do they attach to the roof of the cap?

Is their special bracing underneath?

I can get a set of rails, towers and cross bars for less than $100. Would like to add this to my cap, but want to make sure I can.

Both my cap and the donor cap are ARE and the racks and rails are Thule.

Thanks.

Never mind on the length measurement, the cap is for a 6.5' bed.

But it's for a 2001, figure that won't matter with the roof, both are flat.

He is gonna check how hard it is to remove the rails and get back with me. I told him I'd be in at $75. So well see.

That sounds like a heck of a deal for $75. Just make sure you get the key(s)! The Thule rack on my Leer cap is just nut and bolted through the roof about every foot or foot and a half, no bracing underneath. There are little protective caps covering the nuts on the inside. I would think they are interchangeable with anything that has a flat roof. My last work truck had an ARE cap on it and the Thule rack was attached the same way.

You don't want to put a bike rack on a fiberglass topper unless it was built with a reinforced roof.
