5 horsepower difference ooooo the ecoboost is a monster ! The 5.0 can handle 1000 hp and daily drive all the eco boost is got is towing if you want to go fast you want a high reving engine with top end power if you want to tow you want low end torque. Both engines have a purpose but in no way is the 5.0 slow

Yup 5 hp is the only difference... You're right. The extra torque and fact that it comes in at about half the number of RPM'a as the 5.0 has nothing to do with why it destroys 5.0's... Isert89, you're projecting your ignorance when it comes to car knowledge. Stop now, or forever lose all credibility. LOL.

I think the ecoboost direction that ford took is awesome. However.. The only reasons I bought my F-150 is because of the price and the coyote motor. I personally think that most of the new 4x4's out there are great trucks, at least for what I use them for. Racing another truck is cute and all but it's definitely not something I consider when I buy a truck. Yes, there is a kid in me and it loves the sound of the 5.0! Lol this is a F-150 forum right? I can see the that people would talk down on other brands because this is a Ford community but bashing on each other's motors? Meh... To each his own but in my opinion they are all great motors that serve a purpose, even if it is just to make feel super cool when I hear my 5.0 gurgle

Ironically, mine is in the shop lol... But for a rear end click, not the motor. DON'T BUY THE ECOBOOST, THEY HAVE BAD REAR ENDS!

Has nothing to do with racing. Just said it so that people like Isert89 who don't understand power and torque ratings, know how fast (or slow) they are.

Fair enough, I wasn't intentionally head hunting :P besides, I find myself racing here and there... Only difference is I almost always win because the other person usually has no idea I'm racing them

No what im saying is with power ranges that close its up to driver skill nothing to do with the truck. I have watched 5.0 beat an ecoboost and the opposite I really dont know why im argueing about this any how I dont race my truck I have a car for that I was just trying to give op my opinion and then I get attacked by ecoboost lovers each engine has its place but just cause the 5.0 is the base engine dont make it any less of a motor then the rest.

Must be the turbo causing that!
