Default Installed BB5Z-19G364-C Remote Start

I installed the unit in my 2011 Screwlast night. The install went smooth and I was complete in 35 mins with a beer involved in the process! The down side was having to bring it to the dealer to have it activated....Did that this morning and the unit works great. It controls all climate controls heat A/C seats front rear defroster all based on the ambient temperature outside. Oh and yes the dealer banged me for an hours labor to activate the unit.....I tried to negotiate it but they would not budge.....

Sounds like the 200-Series Bi-directional Remote starter... I'm planning on ordering that one too... Mind me asking what your costs were to buy the kit, and get it flashed..??

I'd love to know what installation and operating instructions you got with it, and if possible see them posted..?? The sales description seems somewhat lacking.

You might also want to read this related thread, or perhaps that's where you got the idea for this kit..??

I got the unit for 290. Once installed had to go have the truck flashed at the dealer and they charged me an hours labor. was not happy about that but what was i going to do.

Default Installed yesterday

I had the dealer install by plug and play kit 200 yesterday. Works great. The only problem is, they misplaced the owners guide. Does anyone know where I can get another copy?

If not, some help on how to use the thing would be great. I know that I press the start button twice to crank the truck and twice more if I want to shut it off, but beyond that, I don't know.

I have questions like, what temp does it automatically turn the heat on? Will this feature work with my truck since I don't have the dual zone controls? How does the alarm button work? Do I have to arm the alarm by hitting the button or does it arm when the doors lock?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Is this the kit that comes with two new keys or is it the one with the key fob?

the truck will automatically turn on heat/ac defroster etc based on the ambient temperature. For this to work I believe you have to have the dual zone climate control installed.....If they programmed the alarm it should activate when you lock the doors.

Thanks, I'm guessing that I need to take the truck back to the dealer so that they can program the shock sensor. The panic button doesn't do anything on the remote...

Sorry to revive such an old thread but did you have to install the hood switch? I'm guessing that it isn't needed on most newer F150s but I'm getting ready to order this for install through accessories.ford.com and wondered if I needed the hood switch it mentions.

Also, does it actually do all the stuff it mentions with the heating/cooling in the description below?

http://accessories.ford.com/kit-remote-starter.html

Hood switch is mentioned at the bottom.

EDIT

Answered my own question on the hood switch issue. I already have the key based remote start so there is already a hood switch in place. (I verified by attempting to do a remote start with hood open, the truck sounds the horn and fail the remote start as expected).

I'm still curious about the climate stuff though.

It does everything it says it does. Mine works great, you do need to have the dual climate control option for it to work I believe. Also I did not have to install the hood switch it was there. I believe the switch is standard on lariat. Just pop the hood you will see it on the driver side if you have it.
