I just called the peckerhead up and he says his FX4 is a 2007 .... not a 2004. Explains why he does have a 6-speed tranny.

It's still makes no difference whether it's a 4 speed or a 100 speed, you won't be using any gear but 1st when you're pulling

Of couse it matters about the drive train, 4 or 6 speed matters, the 6 speed has a lower 1st gear than the four speed

**Let some air out of your tires for a lil more traction

He's already said he's going to drop his tires down to 22 psi. I'll go down to 18 without the rims slipping on the tire.

Just something to think about and follow up on the traction comment. From what I have seen when two somewhat identical trucks pull it is an added benefit to be lifted higher than the other. It changes the traction to the rear.

Example on level ground the lower trucks rear end gets pulled upwards away from the ground and the higher one gets pulled down to the ground, getting more bite.

Just trying to give you a heads up in case one of you has a lift.

Whoever has the best traction and the lowest pull point will win from what I have seen in the past.
