Default Anybody with 6"lift that added to rear of lift?

I have the McGaughy's 6.5" lift and I love it… BUT, I need to get the back up about 2"… I can't seem to get a good solid opinion on if I should install an add a leaf, or try a bigger rear block? Right now the block is 4.5", I know Pro Comp makes a 5.5" block, and I have heard that is about the tallest block you would wanna go with. The only thing that worries me with an add a leaf is if it will make the truck ride noticeably stiffer than it does now… Any input or opinions please?? Thanks guys!

I'm gonna jump on this boat, I've got the McGaughys kit too and looking to bring the back end up inch and a half or so.

I have a Procomp 6" lift. It came with 4" rear blocks. Didn't like the rear sag look and wanted to go back to factory rake so I ordered the 5.5 blocks and installed them myself (very easy). It was more than a year ago and I haven't had any problems.

From what I have heard going from a 4.5" to a 5.5" block (1" taller) realistically adds more than 1" of lift?? As crazy as that may sound I have heard a few different people say this..?

Shouldn't. It's not like the front end where a 1" spacer might add 1.5" of lift.

I also have the procomp stage 2 lift kit and I hated the sag in the rear. I just ended up installing some Airlift helper bags and absolutely love them. Ride is awesome, no sag, and also get the addition to level out the rear whenever i pull my boat or tractor around.

You could maybe add, add a leaf to it since the leaf is pretty thin so it won't mess with the u bolts too much. It adds lift and payload so it a good way of lifting the rear.

I already have Airlift airbags in the rear, but putting air in those makes the truck ride stiff… I have had airbags in my last 2 lifted trucks and I always hear people saying that it improves the ride to have air in them!?!?! I would say the exact opposite...

cheapest option would be to add a block or add-a-leaf, the helper bags coming in second, however your best option would be a set of lift springs to replace the block all together. Personally wouldnt want 5.5" blocks, axle wrap would be unreal.

I did an add a leaf because of axle wrap. It did everything and more. It lifted it, knocked down the wrap, and it did firm up the ride but not to the jarring point. Feels more in control that a wondering tail. I have a 6"BDS with the 5.5 block
