What is going on with these engines?
Maybe we all should have bought the 3.7 ;-)
Anyway, good luck figuring it out!

Nah, my 3.7 had them same crap. In a slow left turn the engine would die away, then come back. Of course it would never do it for the dealer. Just for giggles I pulled the top off the fuse box, and really not to my supprise none of the fuses were completely seated. Some were barely in the sockets. I pushed them all down until they clicked. That was last year, and it hasn't repeated the problem since.

My guess is that it will do it again the next time I start the thing because of this comment.

Glad I am not the only one that had this happen to them. I just had it happen this morning at an intersection. I pulled up turned left then it died. The diagnostic screen flashed "LOW OIL" in red and pressed "ok" to clear it. Pulled over re-set everything and it started right up. This is "F'ed Up!...

Luckily it was 0615 and I was almost alone on the road. I started it back up and went to the shoulder, oil level was ok and nothing dripping, etc so I drove on to work.

Any idea on the cause? No real mods engine wise to the truck. I didn't post this in 2011+ engines because i wasn't sure of the actual problem.thanks
I would take it into the dealership, have them run the codes to see if any appear and have them check the fuel system (fuel pump more specifically). Your symptoms are the same as when I leave my truck parked on an incline (nose facing down). Dealer said it was a common issue with their trucks parked on-site but there was no solution.

What was your fuel level?

OP you mentioned no 'real mods' on engine. Can you elaborate? Perhaps issue is from some aftermarket airbox?

I got nearly 10K miles on my 5.0 and it has been flawless. Also your truck is under warranty, what did the dealership find out on the ECU?

you seem like a dip sh**.

the problem could go either way... for this very reason, the OP looked for advice on a FORUM.

Low oil pressure would be simply because the engine died.

Why does it always shock people that this happens??? "my engine died and the oil light came on, I checked my oil level and it's ok..." Genius!

matt99, all you are going to get is speculation and a headache from any answers you get from us, take it to the dealer because there is not a tech in the world that can diag that kind of problem on a computer controlled truck without more info from the ECM. Good luck and let us in on what the dealer tells you, it seems like this senerio happens more often than it schould and I would not want anybody have to feel that died in the middle of traffic feeling.
