Default truck back in the service bay... any ideas?

two months ago, i had the passenger side cylinder head and short block replaced @ 17K miles (2013 5.0L)...

now, when ONLY above 55+ mph and you stand on the gas (I mean slam it).. there is a loud squelching sound coming from the engine passenger side that lasts just a few seconds.... it sounds like your strangling a goose. i did take a Ford tech out and he heard the noise but had no idea what it could be (he did mention he could also feel a vibration during the noise coming from the passenger footwell area).

its definitely not a belt issue due to the consistency and tone. it also does it w/the A/C on or off and only when you floor it and above 55mph... any suggestions from those in the know?

opps... "replaced passenger side cylinder head and short block"

just got it back from dealer and they said the belts had mud on them. they removed and reinstalled and said it was fixed. knew that wasnt it since its been 4 months since ive taken it off-road.

test drove it and noise still there... im at a loss now? may wait until it gets really bad or hopefully goes away.. i think its an issue with the exhaust system somewhere after the re-built engine installation.

Hi RESQLAB,

I want to escalate this to your regional customer service manager (CSM) so they can help. To get the ball rolling, PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. I'll get this into their hands.

Crystal

thank you crystal for your response. however, im not at the point of stepping over my service advisor or GM's head just yet... they have been trying hard to find the source of the problem.

at the moment, the truck is back home and i will continue to drive it in the hopes the noise becomes more obvious & easily found.

thank you again!

hope they find the answer. i am experiencing a similar sound when i step on the gas. it only happens when i floor it.

i hardly ever hear it because i'm never into the pedal. but when i do hit the gas then i hear the noise. the tech at the Ford house said he could hear it but it wasn't worth the time if everything is checking out. ie: engine, transmission (checked by laptop). in his defense, sometimes it is loud and sometimes it is not as loud. when i took the tech for a drive, i could not duplicate the sound my family heard the night before while driving in the truck. that is why i am hoping someone else can find the cause of the chirping, screaching sound. i think that i hear mine under the floorboard...but more to the left of center.

good luck!
