Default Transmission Temperature Sensor

Today, after driving about 30 Minutes with Transmission at full temperature. I stopped, turned truck off, and ran into the store briefly. After about 5 minutes, I came back out and started my truck. Immediately I noticed that my Trans-Temp Gauge was showing cold, and my scan gauge showed 170Degrees. After a few minutes the gauge slowly started showing warmer temps until it showed full temperature.

I am fairly certain that in the past my temperature always shows full temp after a start/stop like this.

Should I be concerned? Is this a sign of a bad sensor?
Ideas?

If there was a problem you would be staring at a bright amber warning light on your dash cluster.

My 2013 Lariat 5.0 does the same thing. Believe it's common.

Well my 09 does it and has done it for 118,000 miles. Was a little disturbing at first, but I got used to it.
