Default Transmission shifting rough finally fixed

Just wanted to let everyone know I have a 2011 FX4 5.0L with 25,000 kms on it that has been shifting terrible since new like many others I have seen on here and I finally got the problem fixed. Took it to the dealer again yesterday(third time for this problem) and was happy to hear that Ford just finally put out an update for the 2009 to 2011 to fix the shifting problems. They did this update on my truck and its like a totally different truck now. It shifts perfect now and I am totally happy with my truck now.

Mine shifts odd occasionally. 1-2 can be hard sometimes. I asked the dealer about it but they said since there was no "code" they could do nothing. How did you get them to fix it? Mine also is sluggish from takeoff and feels as if there is some braking going on.

Thats exactly what mine was doing and thats exactly what they kept telling me every time. So yesterday I told them my transmission shifts so rough it feels like I got rear ended by another vehicle so I could get a mechanic to go for a road test with me and explain it to him rather then some guy at a desk. As soon as he got in the truck he told me Ford just put out an update for this and he would be the one working on my truck so he did the update for me and my truck is fine now. The mechanic said he has an 09 F150 that was doing the same thing and he just did this update on his and it fixed his problems also. Hopefully they will do this with yours when you go back again as there were no codes present with mine either time.

OK so it's for 2009 to 2011 but wasn't there some internal re-design to the 2011 trans intended to fix the shift problem and if so is it correct that the TSB applies to all three years ?

Also, very occasionally I get a rough 1-2 and it's only happened maybe 5 times in the last year usually when someone wrong foots me in slow traffic and I have to back off then get back on the power at not much more than crawl speed - never happens on a smooth acceleration - when it does happen it just feels like shift kit would - not real hard but firm. So this doesn't really bother me but should I get the upgrade anyway - I'd be more worried about them making it worse than it is now because I don't really consider it a problem and usually prefer to leave well enough alone.
